Open-Learning Curriculum Summary

We focus on the individual student.

All art classes are taught by talented art instructors.  While our classes are open-learning group sessions, teachers here create a specific art challenge and experience together with each student, based on the student’s personal skill level, previous art knowledge, and desire to create--coupled with the concepts and competencies in our program.  We encourage and guide students to grow in their art technique and develop their artistic vision.

The peaceful and inspiring class atmosphere at Epiphany Neighbourhood Art Studios is maintained by class sizes of 3 - 6 students per teacher and the passionate enthusiasm of our educators. Week by week, each student is led to navigate a path through our curricular map by exploring our four main art mediums* to create images of choice in four main subjects**, resulting in our Classical Art Education.
Instructors teach the concepts of the Elements of Visual Art and Principles of Design, covering at least two every class, at the same time as training students in the Tools and Techniques. Students acquire vocabulary of the concepts and competencies which teachers record in their student’s file for markers of progress. Learning outcomes and certificates are available at the Studios.
